BBC World Service: The Chickpea Sisters

When she was in her 20s, Istarlin fled to Europe to escape the civil war in Somalia and ended up living in the UK.

Once a week, she would get together and cook with a group of other refugee and migrant women. Their cooking became so popular that they started a catering company called The Chickpea Sisters with the help of a London organisation called the Klevis Kola Foundation.

Listen to my report with Istarlin and The Chickpea Sisters for the BBC World Service's Outlook programme.
