BBC Radio 4 - Short Cuts: Send Me Your Location

Dr Ahmad Terkawi is a Syrian refugee living in Sweden. Between November 2015 and April 2016, Ahmad and his organisation’s twelve volunteers used their mobile phones to help around 28,000 refugees safely make the perilous sea crossing from Turkey to Greece in tiny rubber boats. Ahmad co-founded the Maritime Organisation for Following Up and Rescue together with a Syrian friend in Germany.

The feature won the HearSay Best Story Award 2017, runner up in 2017 Miller Audio Prize and was featured on BBC Radio 4’s Pick of the Year programme.
