BBC Radio 1/1Xtra Stories: My Mum Wants to Die

markthree media asked me to edit, script and select music for their BBC Radio 1/1Xtra documentary examining the assisted dying debate in the UK. At 24, Josh recently discovered that, like his mum, he carries the Huntington’s Disease gene. Eventually he won’t be able to swallow, let alone play rugby, but he is adamant that both he and his mum will end their lives before the disease takes hold.

We follow Josh on a journey to meet others with a range of views and experiences on the assisted dying debate; including a young disability campaigner against Lord Falconer’s Assisted Dying Bill, and a group of young medics who may have to help their patients to die in the future.
